For young girls, the old standby is the princess costume: after all, all little girls like to dress up as a princess. Say you are looking for a mummy costume - you’ll find one here, as well as ballerina costumes, animal costumes, the list goes on and on. A costume shop will offer you the widest selection. Cartoon and movie character costumes are especially popular and are likely to be stocked. Many of these shops will even help you put together a costume if they don’t have quite what you want on hand. Of course, some of the more elaborate costumes can become somewhat expensive, but can often be rented as well.
If you’re working with a smaller Halloween budget, you can go with this simple and cheap, yet popular costume idea for children - witches or vampires! The main requirements here are simply black clothes and a cape, with a witch hat for the witches and fangs for the vampires (both of these are inexpensive accessories) and a little makeup. These costumes are also very easy to make yourself.
If you cannot spend a lot of money on Halloween costumes, it is very easy to create a wonderful costume from things that are around your home. As most kids want to be witches and vampires, it is very simple to use old clothing along with makeup and accessories to create the scariest Halloween costume on the street.
