When one thinks of the word chandelier, perhaps the first thing that comes to your mind is the word grand. Maybe this is because in movies, we always see chandeliers in the homes of the rich and the famous. They are always depicted in the light of grandeur, as they are shown to be in big house, mansions and palaces, even. Just read up on the fairytales and romantic novels.

When we think of our own modest homes, we may be hesitant to even plan on buying a chandelier. The most common reason for this is that we may think that a chandelier would not suit our homes, as they always seem to be made for big houses. You should not worry about this anymore.

Nowadays, there are the mini chandeliers or chandelettes. They are the mini version of large chandeliers and are, in fact, patterned after them. The idea behind these kinds of chandeliers is to cater to those who do not have large enough homes best suited to the size of a standard chandelier. Now, you do not have to be deprived of decorating your home with a chandelier. Mini chandeliers are flexible in nature because they are smaller. They can accommodate both large and small rooms. Chandelettes, however, work best for small areas like breakfast corners, stairwells, and small rooms.

Chandelettes usually measure just less than a foot in diameter. Some are sold as cheaply as $99. For greater effect, you can use chandeliers in pairs or in trios. They are usually black and white in color, although other colors are available.

You can decorate these kinds of chandeliers in the comfort of your bedroom, in the nooks and corners of your house, in your stairways and in small rooms. They are available in a variety of colors so you can choose what design and color would best suit your decorative goal.

Of course, there are also factors you have to consider in the placement of these mini chandeliers. For instance, if the height between the ceiling and the floor is too high, then the light source that would come from a mini chandelier would not be very illuminating. You also have to consider how large the room is, because the mini chandelier would look very small in a very large room. It works best in small rooms and with small furniture. It would not look very well in the same room with, say, a tall and big shelf.

There are online stores that sell mini chandeliers. You need only to browse the internet and choose from a variety of designs and colors from pictures they provide online. With mini chandeliers, any home can be lovely.

But just how do you choose a mini chandelier? Aside from budget considerations, you should also consider the overall theme of your room which is classic, contemporary or funk? Of course (and this really is common sense), you do not buy capiz shell, old-wood style chandeliers if your space is avocado green with contemporary shapes.
