5 Great Tips For Making Refilling Inkjet Cartridges Easier
December 30, 2007
Refilling an ink cartridge is tricky task, especially when you are doing it for the first time. You might have some problems, and you probably won’t get it right the first time around. But it really isn’t that hard once you get the hang of it.
Here are five great tips that will help make refilling inkjet cartridges a little bit easier for you.
1. Don’t Forget About The Ink
There is nothing more annoying than having to stop what you are doing to get up and refill a cartridge because someone is at your desk whining that the printer is out of ink and they need to print something out right this second. By doing periodic print tests and refilling the cartridge when you see a streak, you can limit these annoying interruptions.
2. Try To Minimize The Mess
Refilling inkjet cartridges can be a seriously messy business, so it is best to do refills at a sink. You want to avoid getting any of the ink on you because it will definitely stain your clothes, and could irritate your skin.
3. Follow The Instructions
Inkjet printer refills are not difficult, but they can be a little tricky. You want to follow the directions closely the first couple of times you do it so that you do not mess anything up. You really don’t want to make a mistake, because they are hard to recover from. You usually end up having to get another printer refill kit and starting all over again.
4. Understand The Process
Refilling inkjet cartridges is pretty easy to understand. All that you are really doing is filling the little bag or sponge located in the plastic cartridge back up with ink. If the ink was put directly into the plastic cartridge, then it could leak out too fast, causing a real mess. It could also leak out to slow, which would mean you would be printing nothing but blank pages.
5. Familiarize Yourself With The Tools
Printer refill kits contain everything you need to go about refilling inkjet cartridges. Inside an inkjet printer refill kit, you will usually find a plunger, a syringe, a bottle of ink and a needle. There will also be a set of instructions for you to carefully follow. There are usually two refills worth of materials in each kit.
With these five tips in mind, you are ready to give refilling inkjet cartridges a try. Good luck, and remember that practice makes perfect!
